This machine is a wonderful kitchen appliance. It is so easy to use and the result is always consistent. The pressure steam process is the best way to make high quality coffee drinks at home without paying big dollars and standing in line at a coffee shop. Everyday, we make Coffee Americano (12 oz – 16 oz cup) at home one cup at a time. Each cup takes about a minute or less. The flavor and taste of each cup of coffee sure is a lot better than a cup of coffee from our old drip machine. Cleanup takes about few minutes. Every other few days or so, rinse the top carousel and few other removeable parts. We are very happy with this Capresso machine.

I purchased this as a refurbished machine. When I set it up and used it a few times I found It to have a water leak. I e-mailed the vendor and he immediately sent out a replacement and arranged a UPS pickup for the defective unit. I contacted the vendor on a Monday, the old machine was picked up on Tuesday and the new machine arrived on Thursday. In other words, this vendor shipped a replacement before he had received my return. Wow!!! I couldn’t ask for better service than that.

The replacement machine works perfectly, makes delicious espresso and is a great and easy to work with semi-automatic coffee maker. I replaced a standard style espresso machine with this and I could not be happier with my choice.

I’ve had this coffee maker for almost one month now and I absolutely love it. My parents have owned the same machine for years and it’s still going strong. The only difference that I could decipher between the E8 and the E9 is that the E9 is painted silver instead of black. Amazon was selling them for the same price, and silver fit better with the rest of my kitchen accessories, so I opted for this model.

The question of whether or not to buy such an expensive machine came down to a number of factors for me: 1) quality of coffee, 2) ease of use, 3) durability & build quality.

As far as quality of coffee goes, I find what this machine produces to be wonderful. I use dark roast Starbucks beans and I’ve had no issues. I read that the Starbucks beans can be a little too oily and cause jams; I’ve had no such issues, at least so far. The manual recommends “airing out” the beans for a few hours before putting them in the machine, so I do this.

Ease of use is wonderful. It even comes with a DVD just in case you find reading too laborious. I opted for the DVD and it taught me everything I needed to know to get this thing up and running, and properly maintained.

Build quality & durability remain to be seen, though I know 3 people who have owned these machines without major issues. The most regular complaint of the Jura-Capresso line, at least in my experience reading reviews, is that the service people are very unfriendly. I wonder if this is a function of the ego of the average purchaser of a $1,000 coffee maker, or if the support people truly are a cantankerous bunch. I’ll probably find out one way or the other, but snippiness on the phone isn’t enough to deter me, if in fact that is the case. I love this machine too much. RECOMMENDED!

For the money this is an excellent machine for non-commericial use. My spouse is totally hooked on lattes. We usually make 2-20 ounce lattes at one time; although, we have made 3 sets of 2-20 ounce lattes back to back. The Capresso is fast. The espresso is flavorful and hot. The steamer quickly heats the milk to perfection and creates as little or as much froth as you prefer.

During the last 20 years, we have had 6 or 7 different espresso machines ranging from $40.00 to $180.00 in price. This one which retails for $105.00 (we paid less on Amazon)is the best. It is easy to use and creates exceptionally good coffee drinks.

A word of caution for any machine you purchase: READ the INSTRUCTIONS. The directions for each machine differ slighty. My caffeine addicted hubby overfilled the water chamber on a very expensive espresso/cappuccino machine and broke it.

The Capresso 301.01 is the machine I would recommend to friends and family. We are extremely happy with this machine.

I have had two of the old version of the Capresso Espresso and Cappuccino Machine. My old machines worked well….sort of tempermental on the “foaming.” My last machine finally just couldn’t make good foam anymore. I bought the new Capresso. This new version is great. The foam is easy to manage and the new “foam spout” is a great improvement over the old one. This machine is very easy to maintain…cleanup is a breeze. The “foam spout” completely detaches with a gentle pull…just run water through it and you’re ready to push it back on to the machine. I don’t drink the coffee, I just make it for my husband. He says it tastes great. You can pay for this machine easily by skipping a few trips to the coffee house! When/if this machine no longer functions, I’ll replace it with the same machine. Great value for the resulting coffee product.

We have had this Capresso coffeemaker for over a year, and have found it to be flawless. We have had none of the small problems shared by other reviewers. We did, however, put a small dab of white paint on the top’s black dot to make it easier to see and position which might help others who are having a problem with that issue. Not only has the machine held up to rigorous use, it continues to deliver fine coffee for us – and we are admittedly coffee snobs! We recommend this Capresso coffeemaker highly.

By eliminating the usual fuss and mess, this 1,200-watt machine makes it easy to brew espresso and make cappuccinos and lattes at home or in the office.

It’s semiautomatic because all that’s required is to fill the water tank, place ground coffee into a receptacle, and pull a lever.

Within seconds coffee flows from the double spout, which adjusts for different cup heights, into one or two cups. No tamping is required because the machine tamps the coffee precisely and automatically. Nor is it necessary to clean used coffee grounds out of a messy filter holder, because there is no filter holder, and the machine automatically discards grounds into a waste tray. About a year ago I wanted an espresso machine that was easy to use, however I was unwilling to pay 1k or more for a fully automatic machine. The Capresso turned out to be an excellent value, providing ease of use with semi-automatic ground disposal and a reasonably sized water container.
In fact, we have experienced only two problems with the Capresso since we bought it: a torn o-ring and clogging. The o-ring tore because I did not clean the rotation mechanism for several months. The accumulated grounds eventually tore into the o-ring, breaking the pressure seal. However, when I called the Capresso help line to discuss our broken o-ring, the help desk agent immediately sent us two replacements in the mail with no questions asked. Total down time for the machine was a mere two days. The clogging was fixed with a complete cleaning, and if truth be told, it did say in the instruction booklet not to use very finely ground coffee.

Our last espresso machine, besides breaking after two years, was so difficult to use and clean we only made espresso on special occasions. The Capresso is convenient enough that we use it all the time. In fact, we have used our Mr. Coffee only twice (note the broken o-ring comment above) since we bought the Capresso.

After a year of use, I can still strongly recommend this product.
